It  memorializes a place where Oregon Trail emigrants were faced with a difficult choice &#8211; a dangerous and difficult Snake River crossing, or continuing to Boise along the southern side of the river, where the route was rocky and there was less grass and water.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/larrykooper.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/IMG_9392-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-901\"\/><figcaption>Snake River, Glenns Ferry, ID<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/larrykooper.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/IMG_9396-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-902\"\/><figcaption>Sketch of making the Snake River crossing. Wagons were caulked and used as boats. <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Visited the museum there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/larrykooper.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/IMG_9403-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-903\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p> Unusually, it gave a lot of space to the Native American point of view.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Got to Boise. It&#8217;s more lively than other Western cities I&#8217;ve visited. &#8220;Boise is vibrant&#8221; says their tourism bureau. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I have mixed emotions about the trip ending.  I like the trip but I\u2019m also happy it\u2019s ending.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At 8:30 PM, the hotel\u2019s fire alarm went off and everyone evacuated. Turned out to be a false alarm, some kid pulled the fire alarm. Walked across the street to the Spectrum, a mall that contains only restaurants and movie theaters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/larrykooper.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/IMG_9414-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-904\"\/><figcaption>The Spectrum, Boise <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Had a great mac and cheese at Mad Mac (a mac and cheese only restaurant).  Saw Toy Story 4 in IMAX. Surprisingly, the movie was good.
